Rice Military was orginally know as Camp Logan in the WW1 era. The "Rice" in Rice Military comes from the family that owned the area and founder of Rice University - William Marsh Rice. It was quickly transformed cute bungalows, 3-story single family homes and townhomes.
The Heights and Greater Heights also know as the Houston Heights was originally founded as Houston's First Streetcar Suburb back in the late 1800's. It was one of the first master planned communities in Texas. The Houston Heights was described as a mini- Austin with low-keyed restraunts and beer gardens.
Montrose Area is known for its vintage shops and eclectic eateries from quaint cafes to Mexican Cantinas. This area is known as the most walkable areas in all of Houston. There is something for everyone. You will aslo find musuems and galleries and very unique shopping boutiques.
